Whether its for pack-shots or TV commercials, the Clients' attention to detail is often acute, yet can start with a loose brief, allowing more creative input than with architectural and product modelmaking. This is the best area in which to develop an 'all round' ability in modelmaking as it covers the broadest range of subject matter, anything from an oversize cereal biscuit to a quartz crystal, from fake tomatoes to fake ice cream, from a medieval castle to a modern satellite.

Flying Car

Made for Herts Motor Insurance company, who tracked me down after reading some of my articles in the hobby mag 'Science Fiction and Fantasy Models'. Only requirement in the brief was that it should have the American muscle car look, apart from that, I could pretty much do what I wanted. Built around a 'Barbie' car cockpit (to save time) the main body was vac-formed styrene over carved Eurathane foam patterns. About two foot long.
